I stand for

A community where everyone is treated equally
About me
BACKGROUND
I was born in Christchurch, my family moved to Muhunoa East when I was 3 so my father, Ivan Holder, could do his country service at the Muhunoa East School. We moved to Levin when I was 11 and I did my schooling at Levin East School and Horowhenua College.
Apart from a few years in the big smoke of Lower Hutt I have spent my life in the Horowhenua, with the last 36 years in Manakau. So I am very familiar with the district, having watch it grow over the years.
I am standing for HDC because I believe in giving back to the community which has supported my businesses.
Exciting times are coming with O2NL finally under construction and Tara-ika adding a potential 3,500 homes to our district. As our population grows, we must manage new housing and roading to preserve our quality of life and ensure balanced land use for a sustainable future. I will bring a strong, independent voice to the council table and beyond.

Experience and
Community Service
I am a Past President of the Rotary Club of Kapiti, active in various community organisations, and currently President of the New Zealand Llama Association. I also serve as co-ordinator for the Levin Repair Café, having been part of its founding committee. I was part of the successful campaign, which resulted in NZTA reinstating the O2NL overbridge at Manakau. I am a volunteer trainer with the Horowhenua Obedience Dog Training Club.
I started my working life as a qualified pharmacy assistant, then opened my own photographic studio and finished my working career as a registered financial adviser. All these roles have equipped me well to listen to people and offer well-thought-out solutions. I consider myself a solution thinker, not a problem seeker.
As a councillor I would express the views of the community, not push any personal views. I am not a member of any political party or any interest group. I am truly independent.
